Since their formation in 1981 Metallica have become one of the most commercially successful and influential musical acts ever.
Metallica has released eight studio albums, two live albums, two EPs and are working on a ninth studio album. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, including 57 million in the United States alone, the band has won seven Grammy Awards, and has had four albums peak at number one on the Billboard 200. The band’s 1991 album Metallica, has sold over 20 million copies.
Tenacious D return to Dublin following their sell-out concert at the RDS Simmonscourt last year.
Jack Black and Kyle Gass make up Tenacious D. They started playing together in Kyle’s studio apt on Cochran Ave in Los Angeles. No one could have ever dreamed of where their genius would take them but take them it did…
The band first gained popularity in 1999 when they starred in the self-titled Tenacious D, a television series on HBO, in which Black and Gass attempted to establish themselves as the “Greatest Band on Earth”. The band have gone on to record two studio albums Tenacious D (2001) and The Pick of Destiny (2006) and starred in their own movie, Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny.
