SINGER Shayne Ward has moved to Los Angeles to record his second album in a bid to become the UK’s answer to Justin Timberlake.
The X Factor winner, who’s mother is Irish, is set to surprise fans with a more American sound, after working with music producers in LA.
The star, who is recovering from a throat operation, told Heat Magazine he gets mistaken for Timberlake.
He said: “One woman ran up to me in LA because she thought I was Justin Timberlake. She was very disappointed and embarrassed when I wasn’tâ€.
The 22-year-old has reportedly been offered a £750,000 one year deal to be the new face of Calvin Klein underwear and has been working hard to get an A-list body.
“I’m working really hard to get my body to a state where I can maintain itâ€, he said.
“And people are going to be seeing more of it.
“I just wanted to tone up. I just wanted to feel better about myself. I feel much more confident nowâ€.
Shayne shot the video for his new single If That’s OK With You, released as a double A-side with No U Hang Up next month, in LA with scantily clad female dancers, but remains faithful to his girlfriend of four years Faye McKeever.
Speaking to Heat magazine, he said: “The way I see it, I have a lot more to lose than to gain. So as much as I can have fun chatting to and meeting and having a dance with girls, that’s as far as it goesâ€.
