NI actor Ray Stevenson to play The Punisher

NORTHERN Ireland actor has been tipped to play the Punisher in the sequel to the 2004 comic adaptation.
Latino Review reported the 43-year-old will be taking over the role as Frank Castle aka Punisher from Thomas Jane and an official announcement is expected at Comic-Con, the annual convention for all things comic.
Stevenson, whoâ€™s previous big screen credits include King Arthur and horror film Outpost, is known for his role in the BBC Two epic drama Rome.
The actor plays Titus Pullo in the Emmy award-winning historical drama depicting the birth of the Roman Empire.
Stevenson will be the third actor to take on the role of the fictional Marvel Comics vigilante anti-hero, who single-handedly fights against the criminal underworld in New York City.
Lexi Alexander, who directed Green Street Hooligans, is reported to be taking the helm and casting for villain Jigsaw has yet to be announced.
The Punisher 2 will be filmed in Montreal and will be released in 2008.
